Catch up

Wow it's time for some major catch up.  A lot has happened over the past few months so I apologize for the delay.  Don't worry we are still very much alive!

First off I'd like to thank my parents for letting us shack up with them for 6 months!!  We are ever so grateful because if they hadn't let us, we would've had to pay rent for 5 months while also paying for a mortgage...YIKES!? But they graciously opened their house up to us and we were able to save extra money too!  Caleb and Zoe truly enjoyed being there to get extra love and hugs from grandpa, grandma and uncle Bud too.  The huge yard was a big hit.  We pretty much played/did anything and everything you can think of in that yard including baseball, catch, basketball, golf, flying kites, riding the rhino and tractor, playing tag, digging in the garden, wandering with Tucker, delivering Armand his mail, picnics on the blanket, peeing in the grass, driving the little blue truck and eating countless Popsicles!  It wasn't always easy, many times the decibel level in the house seemed to reach a max...because let's be honest Caleb isn't Mr. Quiet Pants, but we still had fun and made the most of it!  Thank you mom and dad for the hospitality, playing with the kids, loads of endless laundry and for all the delicious meals too!!  We love you so incredibly much!!

I also want to thank Mike and La for their hospitality as well.  They had anywhere from 1-4 of us throughout the week and we are super thankful.   We are truly blessed to have such loving families that helped us out during a time of need, so again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!  We appreciate you not kicking us to the curb.

So the reason we were living with my parents is because we were building a home in Waconia, MN.  The whole process was so enjoyable, especially making all the choices for our home.  Almost every week I'd drive out to see what was newly added to the house.  Sometimes the only thing new was a faucet but that faucet was like seeing a smart phone for the very first time!!  This house was a long time dream of ours and it was completely worth the wait...it sometimes felt like a long, exhausting, 'is there a light at the end of the tunnel', wait.  But nevertheless, the almost 10 years of renting is finally over!!  Yipee!!  I get to finally decorate our own home...a HUGE dream of mine.  A dream that has come true!!  We closed on our home and were official first time HOME OWNERS on November 23rd, 2015.  I've never been so excited to call a place home.  I truly love it and oh boy, Caleb does too.  I'm pretty certain that he told me "Mommy, I love our new house" about 30 times in the first week.  We will make so many memories here and we already have.  We are just getting to know the neighbors now that it's nice out and there are so many families with kids the same age as our kids which is perfect.  We have fallen in love with the whole area already!!

For some reason I haven't taken many pictures of our house...maybe because it's been winter since we've moved in and we don't have sod yet.  I will be sure to post more pictures once it gets nicer out.  The first photo below is the day Dave and I decided to build a home and we were placing our sticker on the lot we chose!  The 2nd picture is the day we closed on our house with our keys IN HAND.  The third picture is Dave slaving hard in the kitchen (glad I caught it on camera because this is a rare moment folks) and of course the last picture is of our house (still under construction at the time).
